The shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. Thursday inside the Alameda County parole office on Edgewater Drive, police said. Police sources said the suspect, later identified as 48-year-old Brian Keith Hall, was a parolee. The parole officer was taken to Highland Hospital where he died.
