SAN JOSE — A three-alarm fire Wednesday displaced six adults and five animals from two homes, fire officials said. The blaze broke out about 2:35 p.m. in the 3300 block of Gavota Avenue.

San Jose Fire crews responded to a three-alarm fire that spread to a second home on Wednesday afternoon. The fire started at a single-story, single-family home on the 3300 block of Gavota Avenue around 2:30 p.m.. It then spread to a second house, the Fire Department said.

Several homes were involved in a three-alarm fire Wednesday afternoon in South San Jose. The blaze was reported on the 3300 block of Gavota Avenue in the Hillsdale area. Firefighters said a fire that started at a home also spread to an adjacent house.
