The preliminary autopsy results for Melina Frattolin, the 9-year-old girl found dead in Ticonderoga, New York, after being reported missing over the weekend, have been released by New York State Police.
Police sent an alert to people's phones saying Melina Galanis Frattolin was last seen southbound in a white van on I-87 near exit 22 at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case before the State Police took over. Law enforcement identified “inconsistencies” in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided, O’Neil said.
New York State Police said the father of a 9-year-old girl who was initially the subject of an Amber Alert and was later found dead has been charged with her murder.
