The New York Jets locked in contract extensions for cornerback Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson last week, but Gardner didn't sign his new deal immediately. Instead, Gardner delayed inking the offer -- not as a negotiation tactic, but in the spirit of being a good teammate.

Wilson agreed to terms on a four-year, $130 million contract extension last Monday and officially signed the deal four days later. Gardner agreed to his four-year, $120.4 million extension last Tuesday and signed it after showing up at the facility a week later with the rest of his teammates.

Jets star Sauce Gardner said critics of his record-setting extension are blowing last year's performance out of proportion and expressed confidence in his talent.
