In an observation of the Idaho Lottery's 36th year, Tuesday saw its annual dividend checks presented at the College of Western Idaho (CWI) to benefit facilities at public

State leaders gathered at the College of Western Idaho (CWI) campus on Tuesday to celebrate 36 years of the Idaho Lottery's contributions to education and infrastructure projects across the state.

The bulk of the lottery dividend, nearly $46.9 million, will go toward public schools. But schools can no longer use the money directly. Under a far-reaching 2024 school facilities law, this lottery money must go into a property tax relief fund to offset the cost of bonds and levies.

More than 365,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million, the lottery said.
