Flash flood warnings, watches in effect across Chicago area as rain fills streets, underpasses

As of 12:30 p.m., heavy rain had already started to fall in some parts. A flash flood warning was in effect for DuPage and Cook County, the NWS said, with reports of "totally submerged viaducts and underpasses in the city of Chicago."

Tri-county governments meet with NWS to discuss changes to flash flood warning alerts

The National Weather Service in Charleston met Tuesday with government officials from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties to ensure the public knows what to expect if a flash flood warning is issued for their area.
