A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Sunday at 6:43 a.m. EDT for dense fog until 8:45 a.m. EDT for Alger, Delta and Schoolcraft counties.

Drier and cooler air will filter in Monday morning, leading to a gradual decrease in clouds. Morning lows on Monday and Tuesday will be refreshing, with most of our area in the upper 50s to low 60s and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, which is closer to normal for this time of year.

The incident shut down all of the main lanes on the eastbound freeway at Mercury, according to the DOT. The state agency's Houston district posted about the crash on X at 8:58 a.m. Traffic at 9:30 a.m. was backed up past the interchange with the East Loop.

Strong thunderstorms with torrential rainfall developed over portions of southwest and central Iowa early Sunday morning. Flash Flood Warning were issued for central portions of the state where the heaviest rain fell. Flash Flooding was reported around the Winterset area with the Iowa DOT reporting Highway 92 was briefly flooded.

On Sunday at 5:15 a.m. a flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 9:15 a.m. for Monmouth and Ocean counties.

The long wait is finally over for CTA Red Line riders on Chicago's North Side. Four train stations in Uptown and Edgewater — the Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr stops — will reopen Sunday morning after being closed over the last four years for major renovations.
