By calling up Rich Hill for Tuesday's showdown with the Chicago Cubs, the Kansas City Royals put the 45-year-old left-hander in position to make history.
After not being selected in the 2025 MLB draft, Alabama Crimson Tide right-handed pitcher Braylon Myers has now reportedly signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Cubs. Myers joins fellow Alabama teammate Kade Snell in heading to Chicago, as the outfielder was previously selected by the Cubs in the fifth round of the 2025 MLB draft.

Hill is 45 years old, which is remarkable enough. Even crazier is the record Hill is going to tie. This will be the 14th MLB team he pitches for, matching Edwin Jackson for most in league history. The Royals are 48-52 at the time of Hill's call-up, with a lot of work to do to try and return to the playoff race.
On June 15, 2005, Rich Hill made his MLB debut with the Cubs, pitching an inning in relief against the Marlins. More than two decades later, the now-45-year-old lefty received a similar call-up, this time by the Royals, per MLB.com's Anne Rogers.
