Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters (including Danielle Allentuck of The Baltimore Banner) that the right-hander is dealing with more elbow soreness. Rodriguez, who had progressed to throwing bullpen sessions, is being scaled back until he heads for further evaluation next week.
The Orioles’ first three picks were Auburn catcher/corner outfielder Ike Irish (No. 19), Coastal Carolina catcher Caden Bodine (No. 30) and Wehiwa Aloy (No. 31). The No. 19 pick was the Orioles’ original first-round selection, while Nos. 30 and 31 were compensation for losing Corbin Burnes and Anthony Santander in free agency.
