Uber will invest $300 million in electric vehicle maker Lucid in a robotaxi deal that aims to start with one major U.S. city late next year, the companies said on Thursday.

Uber aims to acquire and deploy 20,000 or above Nuro Driver-equipped Lucid vehicles over a six-year period starting 2026.

Under the new deal, Uber said it will be making "multi-hundred-million-dollar investments" in both Lucid and Nuro. Uber already has partnerships with 18 autonomous vehicle compani
