CBS has cancelled The Late Show and announced Stephen Colbert will serve as final host until May 2026 days after he called out his parent company's "bribe."

CBS' shock announcement sparked speculation over whether there was a political motive for the program's cancellation.

“CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump — a deal that looks like bribery,” Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren said on social media platform X formerly known as Twitter.
