Ground search operations were disrupted Sunday in Kerr County, Texas, where many lives were lost in the catastrophic July 4 flooding.

It’s been over one week since the Nevada Task Force 1 (NV-TF1) left Las Vegas to assist with search and rescue and recovery operations in flood-ravaged parts of Texas. Kerr County is where catastrophic flooding occurred over the July 4 weekend.

AL-TF1 and AL-TF5 have joined forces with IL-TF1 and a National Guard unit in Kerville (Kerrville), Texas, to conduct operations along the Guadalupe River. Our search area encompasses approximately 10 miles of the Guadalupe River,

The National Weather Service warned that the Guadalupe River could surge to nearly 15 feet—5 feet above flood stage—by Sunday afternoon.
