A spokesperson for the Texas Christian sleepaway camp, Camp Mystic, has released a statement saying that the camp director may not have seen an important alert from the National Weather Service moments before the flood occurred.

The leader of Camp Mystic had been tracking the weather before the deadly Texas floods, but it is now unclear whether he saw an urgent warning from the National Weather Service that had triggered an emergency alert to phones in the area,

Camp Mystic's executive director began evacuating campers approximately 45 minutes after the National Weather Service issued a "life-threatening flash flooding" alert.
