In the weeks since the primary, several prominent donors who had been supportive of Cuomo pledged their support to Adams in the general election, including billionaire hedge-fund managers Dan Loeb and Bill Ackman, both of whom have become so entwined with the Adams operation that they have helped vet campaign hires.

The poll results emerge as Cuomo relaunched his campaign as an independent following his primary defeat by Mamdani.

But one reply has more engagement than all of them, like double Cuomo's original post, and that's from Mamdani himself.

The 33-year-old had 50,000 volunteers knock on 1.6 million doors for New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary, his campaign said.

In the poll by Slingshot Strategies, first reported by the New York Post, Mamdani has 36 percent of the vote compared to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo 's 27 percent and current New York City Mayor Eric Adams' 14 percent. Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa landed 16 percent of the vote and independent candidate Jim Walden received 2 percent.
