The U.N. rights office said on Friday it had recorded at least 798 killings within the past six weeks at aid points in Gaza run by the U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and near convoys run by other relief groups.

The GHF aid distribution scheme was established after Israel partially lifted its blockade of aid supplies into Gaza. It established four sites - called "Safe Distribution Centres (SDS)" - on the strip. Three were located in the south, near Rafah, and one in central Gaza.

The United Nations is investigating the deaths of 875 Palestinians near aid distribution sites in Gaza, with reports linking the fatalities to controversial US and Israeli-backed aid hubs.
